This year, we tried something different for our pumpkins. I let the girls paint theirs but Brandon still wanted to carve his. They had to be the easiest pumpkins ever! The one Brandon carved was actually one the kids had used at school to see how much they wieghed and how many seeds were in them. It was already cleaned out for me. Yeah! The only thing I had to do was help him draw a face and he did the rest. Ashlee especially liked the idea of painting because she's allergic to raw pumpkin. Her arms broke out once when she helped clean one out (before we knew she was allergic). She had instant rashes on her arms to the point of cracking and bleeding. It wasn't pretty. She ate some raw pumpkin once too and and she ended up with red polka dots all over her body. Monika just loved the idea of painting. She's my artist.
Our ward also had a Halloween party. It was a little too structured for us and it took for ever just to get to the trick or treating. We had dinner, then they did an auction for cubscouts with baked good, then they did a pumpkin carving contest, then a costume contest and then they did the candy. The kids were going crazy by then and alot of people had left. When we got home, our neighborhood was still going strong and we ended up handing out all of our candy including what the kids had just got. We had to make a trip around the block just so they could each have a few pieces.

Cute costumes! I might try to pull off being a pirate tonight. We have an adult Halloween party to go to tonight. Your kids costumes fit them well.
oh my gosh those girls are so beautiful! I love the costumes! Brandon is handsome in his batman costume too ;)
